What will it cost me to join the club?
We charge a one-off fee to join the club which goes towards the club boat fund.
There is then an annual club fee that is collected as a lump sum for the first period and then either by monthly standing order or annual payment. (£12/mthly for 2011)
What will the training cost?
The use of the pool and the S.A.A. training is provided free as part of your club membership
What about insurance while I am diving?
As a member of the S.A.A. you are provided with full worldwide diving insurance. For details either look at the S.A.A. web site or come along and ask at the club.
What is the cost of equipment?
For your first few times in the pool there would not be any costs but as a suggestion during the first few months you would probably want to buy your own dive mask, snorkel and fins. This is likely to cost under £100 but that depends on your taste.
Once you decide that you want to continue diving and have used other members' equipment to find out what you like, the club normally goes to the dives shows and can help you in selecting the best equipment. As a guide the total costs including mask, fins, B.C.D., air cylinder, regulators and gauges would be about £600-700 and then you will need either a wet suit or a dry suit. These will cost £200-400.
As with all sports this can only be a guide as the sky can be the limit if you wish it.
